About

Easter is around the corner, so it’s time to don your bunny ears and hop to it so everyone in your house can enjoy an Easter basket chockfull of springtime treats. But what isn’t in your basket is just as important as what is. Treats from Whole Foods Market meet our strictquality standards — no artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners or preservatives.

Start off with fair trade Alaffia baskets which are handwoven by cooperative members in Togo and Ghana. Grab one for every person in the house and fill them with these goodies:

Goodies every bunny will enjoy

  • Divine Chocolate Easter Eggs. Three options including Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Foiled Eggs and Milk Chocolate Speckled Eggs — all quintessential goodies for your Easter basket.
  • Lake Champlain Easter candy. Get your chocolate fix without any funny ingredients in the mix.
  • LILY’S Stevia Chocolate Foiled Eggs.Satisfy a sweet tooth and your conscience; these Fair Trade chocolates do it all. Look for their no-sugar-added foiled eggs and sunflowers.
  • Folkmanis finger puppets. These wash-safe finger puppets come in a variety of fun animals that adults might enjoy as much as the kids!
  • Trujoy Sweets Organic Lollipops. These cute bunny-shaped goodies come in three delicious flavors including lemon, strawberry and watermelon — all made without corn syrup. And they’re nut free, peanut free, vegan and kosher.
  • Annie’s Homegrown Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks. These soft and chewy gummy treats from Annie’s come in bunny shapes and are made with real fruit juice. They’re organic and vegan (they are made without gelatin). Plus, they are Non-GMO Verified.

Grown-up goodies perfect for parents and hosts

  • Chocolates. Choose Theo Organic Chocolates for some fun flavors adults will love such as Lemon and Almond Coconut. Eat with ease — they’re fair trade, Non-GMO Project Verified and made U.S.
  • Brunch beverages. Grab a bottle of Presto! Prosecco and mangoes for a delicious mimosa-themed basket. Include the recipe for mango mimosas too!
  • Bubbles, soaps, lotions and more. Pop into the Whole Body department to grab your favorite products to share, whether it’s 365 Everyday Value® Lavender Shower Gel, Aura Cacia essential oil, Mineral Fusion nail polish or a fizzy bath bomb.
  • Cookbook and wine. Plan for the next date night in with a bottle of something red, white or pink and a hot new cookbook (my picks include “The Broad Fork,” “One Dough, Ten Breads” and “The Kitchn Cookbook”).

Beyond the expected

  • Better than candy. Non-edible treats make great Easter basket fillers too! Try bunny-themed books (“The Tale of Peter Rabbit” and “Guess How Much I Love You” are favorites in our house), homemade playdough, stickers, bubbles and sidewalk chalk — the entertainment will last much longer than any chocolate bunny buzz.
  • Eggcellent ideas. Look for eggs made from renewable content or reuse the plastic ones at bath time, for kids’ secret treasure storage or make a spring wreath for next year.
  • The hunt. Shop the bulk bins at Whole Foods Market for goodies to fill eggs with such as candy, dried fruit, yogurt-covered raisins or pretzels. Get just the right amount without leftover candy temptations!
  • Fun for all. After the Easter egg hunt, set up lawn games such as croquet, bocce ball or ladder golf, pour some mimosas and frolic as a family.
